New Music Expo Challenge and It's Your Festival Fundraiser

Everyone knows that IT’S YOUR FESTIVAL is the best Canada Day weekend celebration anywhere! But what not everyone knows is that it is a Not-for Profit Organization run entirely by volunteers. We have to raise funds to be able to supply the FUN that everyone is used to.
This year, in partnership with Collective Arts, we’ve decided to bring back the New Music Expo Challenge as a fundraiser event (the last “battle of the bands” from Stage 4 New Music Expo was in 2010). For the inaugral return, the selection was based on the top draw bands from 2019 and 2023 to bring you 6 bands from the “small but mighty stage in the shade” who are all more than ready for this musical challenge.
The winners, chosen by a panel of industry judges, will be offered a spot on the Gage Park Bandshell stage during It’s Your Festival 2024. They will also win recording sessions for up to a 6 song EP at Boxo Studio, Hamilton.
Get ready to cheer for your favorite band from an incredibly talented group: Back Road Bourbon, Black Sunrise, Rev Bob and the Lil Evil Blues Band, The Big Heavy, The Deadly Romantics and Treading Zero. Audience reaction WILL be part of the judges’ decision process, so grab your tickets and come out for a win-win afternoon of supporting your band AND supporting your festival.
